Network Test Access Points (TAPs) are hardware tools that let you access and monitor your network. The modular package broker chassis system provides a flexible and scalable design to meet your networking needs today and tomorrow.

Filtering network TAPs allows you to filter the traffic that is not needed by the tool to perform its function. The port-to-port aggregation feature in the 1G Modular Chassis combines filtering and aggregation functionality to ensure that the connections are aggregated. The filtering ensures that listening ports are not oversubscribed with unsolicited data.

Design your own chassis with modular TAPs that support tap-breakout, aggregation, filtering, regeneration / SPAN, and bypass modes. With this modular system, you can fully deploy and manage your monitoring and security applications, and ensure 100% network availability so you can see every bit, every byte and every packet.

  • Scalable modular TAP system
    • 2U accommodates up to 12 TAPs – backplane filtering within the TAP range
    • 1U contains up to 4 TAPs – backplane filtering between TAPs and port
  • Management and non-management options:
    • Management Card: Ethernet with GUI – and – Serial with CLI controller
    • Chassis without management available; (Administrative card can be added at a later date)
  • Port Mapping: The filter grants granular network traffic selection on layers 2, 3, and 4 of the packet to provide monitoring tools only for the traffic they are protecting
  • Multi-level filter support: MAC, VLAN, IP, DSCP, TCP, UDP
  • Network Failsafe detects power failures and closes the relay circuits automatically in less than 8 milliseconds. Then the two network devices connected to ports A and B are reconnected
  • Media Conversion: Glass fiber (SX, LX, ZX) to copper (TX) or copper (TX) to glass fiber (SX, LX, ZX). Short range fiber (SX) to long range fiber (LX or ZX)
  • TAP modules are hot-swappable, fully configurable, and interchangeable
